AKC Breeder Referral

Lancaster Kennel Club, Inc., through it's members and other kennel clubs, can  refer you to a reputable breeder of any breed recognized by the American Kennel Club.  These breeders can discuss the good points and bad of the breed  that you're interested in.  If they don't have puppies available, they will most likely be able to tell you who does.

We suggest that you choose a breed carefully.  Many breeds have special needs like lots of room to exercise, medical problems  associated with the breed, and many others.  Reputable breeders are more than happy to discuss these needs with a potential buyer.  In fact, they want to discuss them.

If you're not sure about a particular breed, please have a look at our "About Pure-Breds" page and the links to the American Kennel Club.  There, you will find information on all AKC recognized breeds and can review the standards for each of them.  The more you know about a breed, the better you can make an educated decision.  Dog ownership is committment for the life of the best friend you'll ever have.  Choose wisely!
